| Background
Although neither of us had any formal
training our love of cooking and food led us to open Tomlins
Vegetarian Restaurant in September 1997. 0ur aim was to provide
not only a safe haven (heaven) for vegetarians and vegans
but to show that vegetarian cooking could be top quality and
rival other restaurants.
We proved this by growing in reputation to being the best
rated restaurant in Cardiff according to ‘Hardens London
and UK Restaurant guide’ 2002 & 2003.

Having
achieved this and with David’s standing as a top vegetarian
chef growing with radio work, guest writing in local papers
and cookery demonstrations in Cardiff and Mid Wales we felt
it was time to move on yet still be involved in cooking.
As so many customers were asking for recipes and lessons the
idea of a vegetarian guest house and cookery school seemed to
be a logical progression. But where? We considered other places
in Wales and the UK but kept on coming back to France; the life
style, the space, the excellent produce, the love of food and
the quality of life.
So here we are. We hope you enjoy your time with us, enjoy the
food and enjoy the experience that is Tomlins. |
